The Halfway Point of the Halfway Point

Thu Sep 28, 2006, 8:07 PM
Hey, kids. Been awhile, I know. But I've been busy. So busy in fact, I'm going to tell you all about it.

So, of course, there's always school. Junior year's no walk in the park. First period I've got English 11. English is usually my strongest subject. Currently it is one of my weakest. Why is this you ask? The teacher, of course. She leads a very devote English lifestyle. I've never met someone who is more of an English teacher. The woman is insane. And generally gives me poor grades for failing to make connections. Although I feel there is nothing to worry about. As she is an English genius, I am hoping some of that knowledge will rub off on me and by the end of the semester I will be a better English student. Freedom is slaver, ignorance is strength, I like George Orwell, blah blah blah.
Second period is Stat and Prob. This is my cop out math class, because a) I am terrible at math, and b) *see reason a. So far, so good in this class. I'm doing pretty much as well as I expected, which I pleased with. And the teacher's good, as well. Tough, but fair. She let's play taboo a lot. Actually there's an enormous test in this class tomorrow. A mere few hours. Opposed to studying, I'm writing this. But the night is young, I say.
Third period I've got ATP2 (theatre). This is a goodr respite from the harshness of education. We're doing Disney's Alladin for the fall musical. I'm Alladin. I'm happy about this. A Whole New World is difficult to sing (considering i can't). But it should be good. Come out and see it.
Fourth period is Physics. How I love Physics. Let me start by saying this class is taught by a man who has won my heart. He is the single greatest teacher I have ever had. The man is a Physics olympian, and we're pretty sure he worked for the government at one point, assassinating rebels in Cambodia or something like that. I started off having some difficulties with Physics though. His teaching style was something I had to get used to. But I'm getting better. One day I will be a physics olympian too (i hope).
After school I'm an officer is the clubs of Film and Silly Games. I am very proud of these clubs. They're very innovative. It's good. Silly games club was a joint effort between the remaining guys in TJ Stage. It's essentially elementary school recess. We already have 125 members. It's good.
I've got some film projects I'm pretty excited about coming up too. Missing the Moother Goose, badly, but I perservere.
I've been doing a lot of theatre too (apparently). I just wrapped doing Ruthless! tech, and now I've got the previously mentioned Alladin, and a Fun Company Show called Lilly's Purple Plastic Purse. And who can forget the Interactive Civil War Murder Mystery in Gettysburg. How do I get roped into these things? AA is doing very well. We've got some new memebers who show potential. We're actually doing a show at Oktoberfest this Saturday. Should be good. No Nazi jokes, I promise.
Working a lot too. It's (kind of) a pain, but money in the pocket is nothing to complain about. So I'm going to shut my whiney mouth. The people I work with are pretty cool, and the job is generally easy most of the time. Today I sat around and watched Willow for two hours. You get my drift.
Trying to see if there are any hijinks to report...hmmm...apparently I'm going to Philly this Monday as we have off (thank you moses). Getting Philly cheese steaks by the Liberty Bell. I am excited.
So I've been listening to a lot of music, watching a lot of movies, reading a lot of books, and going non stop just like always. I'm missing everyone (you know who you are! Dean, James, John, Caitlyn, Lee, Colin). Things just aren't nearly as exciting round these parts. Come back and see us again soon, y'hear? But seriously, you're all missed. I'm sending out some intense postcards soon, so be ready.
But through it all, the life goes good. Very good. I'm swell, the people around me are swell, the people I miss are awell. What's not to like?
And she's a jar. Let's not forget that.

I am proud of those who made it this far. Salute.

So today, my friend Stephanie and I went over to the frisbee house because we had to sign some housing forms but there wasn't anyone there so our friend Flagger had left his key under the welcome mat so we could let ourselves in. So we did our thing and then we were leaving and I was putting the keys back under the mat and apparently not doing a very good job of it so Steph said "Geez! You don't want to leave the keys hanging out from under the mat, Lee! [long pause] Oh my God, I just said Matt Lee!!" I never thought that would actually occur in a real sentence, but it did. So I thought of you. :-)
